“Listen closely: the only time it’s too late to change yourself is when you’re dead. Until then, you’re simply making excuses or lying to yourself.”

Listen closely:
— The Curious Savage (John Patrick)
“People say I love you all the time - when they say, ‘take an umbrella, it’s raining,’ or ‘hurry back,’ or even ‘watch out, you’ll break your neck.’ There are hundreds of ways of wording it - you just have to listen for it, my dear."
— Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms
“Maybe…you’ll fall in love with me all over again."
“Hell,” I said, “I love you enough now. What do you want to do? Ruin me?”
“Yes. I want to ruin you.”
“Good,” I said. “That’s what I want too.”
— Wendo L.
Do not say something if you do not mean it.
Do not do something if you can’t accept the consequences.
Do not promise something if you can’t honor it.
In simple, do not start something you can’t finish.
— Unknown

Don’t marry a man
unless you would
be proud to have
a son exactly
like him.

“Until we have seen someone’s darkness, we don’t really know who they are. Until we have forgiven someone’s darkness, we don’t really know what love is.”
— Desmond Tutu
My father always used to say, “Don’t raise your voice. Improve your argument.” Good sense does not always lie with the loudest shouters, nor can we say that a large, unruly crowd is always the best arbiter of what is right.

Depression does not always mean
Beautiful girls shattering at the wrists
A glorified, heroic battle for your sanity
Or mothers that never got the chance to say good-bye
Sometimes depression means
Not getting out of bed for three days
Because your feet refuse to believe
That they will not shatter upon impact with the floor
Sometimes depression means
That summoning the willpower
To go downstairs and do the laundry
Is the most impressive thing you accomplish that week
Sometimes depression means
Lying on the floor staring at the ceiling for hours
Because you cannot convince your body
That it is capable of movement
Sometimes depression means
Not being able to write for weeks
Because the only words you have to offer the world
Are trapped and drowning and I swear to God I’m trying
Sometimes depression means
That every single bone in your body aches
But you have to keep going through the motions
Because you are not allowed to call in to work depressed
Sometimes depression means
Ignoring every phone call for an entire month
Because yes, they have the right number
But you’re not the person they’re looking for, not anymore..

“Sensation tell us a thing is.
Thinking tell us what it is this thing is.
Feeling tells us what this thing is to us”
— James Frey
“I used to think I was tough, but then I realized I wasn’t. I was fragile and I wore thick fucking armor. And I hurt people so they couldn’t hurt me. And I thought that was what being tough was, but it isn’t.”
— Fred Rogers
“If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.”
— Audrey Niffenegger, The Time Traveler’s Wife
“Maybe I’m dreaming you. Maybe you’re dreaming me; maybe we only exist in each other’s dreams and every morning when we wake up we forget all about each other.”
— Mandy Hale, The Single Woman
“Some steps need to be taken alone. It’s the only way to really figure out where you need to go and who you need to be.”
When To Move On From A Friendship
In life, friends come and go. Here are 10 signs that it’s time to move on from a friendship:
why are you keeping track of me?
Do you hate me or yourself?
Why aren't you letting go?
Are you afraid? Are you in pain?
I know it's hard, believe me i do
but acting out like this, is not humane.
— Lyanla Vanzant
“Until you heal the wounds of your past, you are going to bleed. You can bandage the bleeding with food, with alcohol, with drugs, with work, with cigarettes, with sex; But eventually, it will all ooze through and stain your life. You must find the strength to open the wounds, Stick your hands inside, pull out the core of the pain that is holding you in your past, the memories and make peace with them.”
— Johanna de Silentio
“Relax. You will become an adult. You will figure out your career. You will find someone who loves you. You have a whole lifetime; time takes time. The only way to fail at life is to abstain.”

I'm Selling My Heart
I'm selling my heart
For a buck maybe two
If you plead hard enough
I might just give it to you
This useless heart of mine
So cruel and untrue
To my own happiness
Which it so easily misconstrues.
I'm selling my heart
For a price you wouldn't believe
All it takes
Is for you to say please
Its a defective heart
It can't help but love
But as long as you want it
I'd gladly give it up.
So who wants a heart?
Its cheap, I swear
Its a simple heart
Too quick to care
Too easy to break
So completely it loves
It can't help but ache
For the one it comes to love.
I'm selling my heart
For a buck maybe two
If its broken
Is it worth any less to you?
It was such a cruel heart to me
Perhaps it can be true to you.
