The other day, someone ("x") asked me why I'm always smiling and in a good mood.

But all I do, is bottle up my tears until I go home or hit the road or  shower or sleep.

I love children.

Not because they're sweet, or cute, or ignorant about life.

I love them because they always say what's on their mind, and they don't lie or hide things.

That's more than I can say for the rest of the world.

I started getting sick again this year.

I'm behind on work, my grades are going down.

The other day after class, my teacher stopped me and told me she knows what I'm going through.

She looked me in the eyes and said "You're too young to be miserable".

I went home and cried. She's right.

We're confused because she was always hugging people and giving them compliments.

A few tables over is a group of jocks who go up to her and tease and make fun of her.

She just brushes it off.

I yelled at them, they just laughed at me but I honestly don't care.

My secret? I go to the library everyday to check on her.

adopted a teenage girl

Me and my husband recently adopted a teenage girl.

Last night I brought her a cup of tea to her room and she started crying.

I asked her what was wrong and she said that that was the kindest thing anyone had ever done for her.

I wish that people so young didn't have to suffer, it's not right.

I discovered something today.

To get my crush to like me, I don't need to change.

I don't have to spend hours on my hair, wear makeup, or go shopping for the newest clothes. 

I just have to be me.And nobody but me.

If he can't accept me, then I can't accept him. Remember, being yourself is the way to find who truly cares for you.

Test Preparation Tips

Preparation for your first test should begin after the first day of class; this includes studying, completing homework assignments and reviewing study materials on a regular basis.
Budget your time, make sure you have sufficient time to study so that you are well prepared for the test.
Go to review sessions, pay attention to hints that the instructor may give about the test. Take notes and ask questions about items you may be confused about.
Ask the instructor to specify the areas that will be emphasized on the test.
Make sure you go to the class right before the test; it's another prime time for the instructor to give out more hints or the format of the test.
Go over any material from practice tests, HW's, sample problems, review material, the textbook, class notes...
Eat before a test. Having food in your stomach will give you energy and help you focus but avoid heavy foods which can make you groggy.
Don't try to pull an all nighter. Get at least 3 hours of sleep before the test.
Put the main ideas/information/formulas onto a sheet that can be quickly reviewed many times, this makes it easier to retain the key concepts that will be on the test.
Try to show up at least 5 minutes before the test will start.
Set your alarm and have a backup alarm set as well.
Go to the bathroom before walking into the exam room. You don't want to waste anytime worrying about your bodily needs during the test.
