Intimacy

“Intimacy is not who you let touch your genitalia. Intimacy is who you text at 3am about your dreams and fears. Intimacy is giving someone your attention, when ten other people are asking for it. Intimacy is the person always in the back of your mind, no matter how distracted you are.”

~ The Sensual Starfish

Somewhere Between Earth and Heaven

I pray

That if I ever become an angel

(doubtful)

That my fear of heights

Will lose itself

Somewhere between

Earth & Heaven

Fear is what we learn here.”

There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life,

There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them. Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are. So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be. Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.
Take life one day at a time. it is not how fast we move or how long we live, it’s how we cherish every moment of our life. it is how we treasure every memories that we are creating each day, it is how you cope and win each day, it is how you show every day how wonderful person you are.

The secret to being happy is accepting where you are in life and making the most out of everyday. :)

Fear

Fear isn't the opposite of Love,
it's a biological response to uncertainty.

“If you look into your own heart, and you find nothing wrong there, what is there to worry about? What is there to fear?”

In the books, Hermione’s boggart is failing her classes. Her greatest fear is failing her classes.

In the books, Hermione’s boggart is failing her classes. Her greatest fear is failing her classes.

However, it goes a lot deeper than that. Subconsciously, I think she believes that if she does not do well and if she fails, they’ll kick her out of Hogwarts and the Wizarding World. So her real fear isn’t failing.

At Hogwarts, she has two wonderful friends who love her, and she is getting to live in an incredible world. She doesn’t want to lose that, and she thinks that if she does bad in her classes, they won’t let her come back.

Her real fear is rejection and loss.

Find someone who isn’t afraid

Find someone who isn’t afraid to admit that they miss you. Someone who knows that you’re not perfect, but treats you as if you are. Someone who’s biggest fear is losing you. One who gives their heart completely. Someone who says I love you and means it. Last but not least, find someone who wouldn’t mind waking up with you in the morning, seeing you in wrinkles and grey hair, but still falls for you over again.”

— Ava DuVernay

I find that fear and not wanting to take risks, and staying too comfortable makes people wait.
They’ll say,
‘I’ll wait until this happens,
I’ll wait until I go to film school,
I’ll wait until I have all the money,
I’ll wait until they ask me.’
Don’t wait for permission.
Seek without permission.
There’s nothing to wait for.
There’s no one coming.
There’s nothing coming to do this for you.
You have to do it yourself.
The mantra ‘do it yourself’ ultimately says ‘do not wait for anyone or anything.’
You have to get up and do that thing.
Especially as women filmmakers, as filmmakers of color, anyone who is outside of the dominant culture, anyone who is not getting handed anything, which is most of us, we cannot wait.
You have to figure it out on your own and be confident in that and enjoy the ride.
Because it is a ride.
Even starting my PR firm and running that business.
No one was going to hand that career to me.
We have to seek without permission and don’t wait for anything.”

a fairy tale ending

I don't want a fairy tale ending with you. I want to be there to help you face your fears and to help you overcome your failures.

-Eric Wright

"But instead of spending our lives running towards our dreams, we are often running away from a fear of failure or a fear of criticism."
