Fifty years of life

50 years ago

You might be born in a village in a far away land

where monkeys were jumping from tree to tree

long boat was a common sight in the river then

45 years ago

You might be contented with the simplest gift

whoever that might have given you as a present

with a young heart who was always willing to give

40 ago

You might not be playing computer games

as what the kids used to do nowadays

but delighted to swim in your small stream dam

35 years ago

You might know how to make a request

to the radio station for your favorite songs

but that did not mean you were stylish

when you walked around the town in your tongs

30 years ago

You might be a young man with a charming face

who was ever ready for an adventure and never

felt that any task given to you was a dash

25 years ago

You might be thinking of your big ambition

wanting to be someone of great worth

hence it led to your far away migration

20 years ago

You might have married to a beautiful gal

or even have a baby or two and a steady

job that might lead you to your goal

15 years ago

You might have desired that the night feeding

of the babies be over as soon as possible

so that you could enjoy a good night of sleeping

10 years ago

You might be having a very comfortable life

with the children soon to be in their teens

and every investment did not seem to dive

5 years ago

You might had slow down a bit in your pace

with grey hair starting to grow out of your head

you might wonder when were you going to end the race

But did you ever realize

You have come a long way to your present day

with happiness, hurts, sorrow, regrets, failure and success

for you to sort out what life is meant to you over there!
