— Johnny Depp

“I suppose nowadays it’s all a question of surgery, isn’t it? Of course the notion is beautiful, the idea of staying a boy and a child forever, and I think you can. I have known plenty of people who, in their later years, had the energy of children and the kind of curiosity and fascination with things like little children. I think we can keep that, and I think it’s important to keep that part of staying young. But I also think it’s great fun growing old.”

— Carolyn Hall, 17 Thoughts for Single Women From A Divorcee

“If you’re under 30 and in a relationship right now, and you’re not head over heels, get out. You are way too young to be wasting your time with someone who doesn’t make you really happy to be with them every day. There’s nothing sadder than watching 23-year-olds settle.”

Two desperate young hearts. Desperate to find someone to love, desperate to be liked by someone.

That was probably why I started to like him after the third time we met. That was probably why he told me, a few hours after the first we met that I was the first girl he really could talk. As fast as he came into my life, he disappeared from my life. It’s a shame, I think we could have been something beautiful.

~Sir Arthur Pinero

Those who love deeply never  grow old; they may die of old  age, but they die young.

— Hillary Clinton on how to handle criticism & other advice for young women, The Cut

“Too many young women I think are harder on themselves than circumstances warrant. They are too often selling themselves short. They too often take criticism personally instead of seriously. You should take criticism seriously because you might learn something, but you can’t let it crush you. You have to be resilient enough to keep moving forward, whatever the personal setbacks and even insults that come your way might be. That takes a sense of humor about yourself and others. Believe me, this is hard-won advice I’m putting forth. It’s not like you wake up and understand this. It’s a process.”

— Veronica Roth

“Since I was young, I have always known this: Life damages us, every one. We can’t escape that damage. But now, I am also learning this: We can be mended. We mend each other”

Why Can't People See The Real Me?

Why?
Why can’t people see the real me?
I try so hard to be the perfect person I can be.
Sure I’m young, quiet and shy.
But I’m such an amazing person, which many pass by.
Why?
Why can’t people just take the time?
Just tell me your favorite thing to do and I’ll tell you mine.
The people that do, I hold dear to my heart.
They see me as mysterious, sweet, funny and smart.
You can’t expect me to open up the very first day.
It takes time, but trust me, I’ll soon have a lot to say.
Why?
Why can’t people wait and get to know the real me?
I bet you I’d be a much different person than you first did see.

— Ray Bradbury, Dandelion Wine

“Some people turn sad awfully young. No special reason, it seems, but they seem almost to be born that way. They bruise easier, tire faster, cry quicker, remember longer.”

D.B

I’m tired. I’m sorry if I can’t come out to meet you, or if I seem to be ignoring you. I just am so tired of life right now and I know I shouldn’t be because I’m young and inexperienced. I ought to be alive and be ready to consume the world. But I’m not ,okay. I’m tired.

stupid enough

Young enough to know I can,
old enough to know I shouldn't,
stupid enough to do it anyway
