Never rush to compensate.
"Your actions are depended on every minute, every hour, every day, every week, month, year and decade you put into it. Never rush to compensate. If you take your time and listen, you will learn so much more than you ever imagined".

“As you give thought to your future—your future that may be 10 years; your future that may be 5 years; or your future that is 60 days away—you literally begin pre-paving. And then, as you move into those pre-paved moments, and as that future becomes your present, you fine-tune it by saying, This, is what I now want. And all of those thoughts that you have put forth about your future, right down to this moment when you are now intending what action you want to take, will all fit together to bring you precisely that which you now want to live.”

“I am lost in my daydreams. Constantly thinking about how to fulfill my heart and my longings.
It feels like I am wasting too much time. Time with people who actually hurt and destroy me. With being a perfectionist permanently trying to improve myself. I waste too much time with being egocentric and impatient. With arguing and dispute. With being sad and depressive. I am wasting too much time with criticizing myself and wanting to be someone else.
I am wasting too much time instead of being happy. Instead of loving deep and completely out of control. Instead of experiencing adventures and late-night talks. Instead of dancing in the rain. Instead of moving to a big city.
I am wasting too much time instead of living out my daydreams.”

“A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. ‘Never leave that ‘til tomorrow,’ he said, ‘Which you could do today.’ This is the man who discovered electricity. You’d think more of us would listen to what he had to say. I don’t know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I’d say it had a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure. Fear of pain. Fear of rejection. Sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you’re wrong. What if you make a mistake you can’t undo. Whatever it is we’re afraid of, one thing holds true. That by the time the pain of not doing the thing gets worse than the fear of doing it. It can feel like we’re carrying around a giant tumor. And you thought I was speaking metaphorically.”

you just want the past to stay in the past

There are times when you just want the past to stay in the past and not interfere with the present because you know there is no future.

Before you know it
“Before you know it it’s 3 am and you’re 80 years old and you can’t remember what it was like to have 20 year old thoughts or a 10 year old heart.”

you heart needs more time.
Sometimes
your heart needs
more time to accept
what your mind
already knows.

“Someday you’re gonna look back on this moment of your life as such a sweet time of grieving. You’ll see that you were in mourning and your heart was broken, but your life was changing…”

It is during the worst times of your life
It is during the worst times of your life
that you will get to see the true colors of the people
who say they care for you…

“I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person.”
— Johnny Depp
“I suppose nowadays it’s all a question of surgery, isn’t it? Of course the notion is beautiful, the idea of staying a boy and a child forever, and I think you can. I have known plenty of people who, in their later years, had the energy of children and the kind of curiosity and fascination with things like little children. I think we can keep that, and I think it’s important to keep that part of staying young. But I also think it’s great fun growing old.”

— Carolyn Hall, 17 Thoughts for Single Women From A Divorcee
“If you’re under 30 and in a relationship right now, and you’re not head over heels, get out. You are way too young to be wasting your time with someone who doesn’t make you really happy to be with them every day. There’s nothing sadder than watching 23-year-olds settle.”

— Douglas Adams, The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul
“There are some people you like immediately, some whom you think you might learn to like in the fullness of time, and some that you simply want to push away from you with a sharp stick.”

You know that feeling when you’re just waiting,
You know that feeling when you’re just waiting, waiting to get home into your room, close the door, fall into bed, and just let everything out that you kept in all day, that feeling of both relief and desperation?
Nothing is wrong, but nothing is right either, and you’re tired, tired of everything, tired of nothing, and you just want someone to be there and tell you it’s okay, but no one’s going to be there, and you know you have to be strong for yourself because no one can fix you.
But you’re tired of waiting, tired of having to be the one to fix yourself and everyone else, tired of being strong, and for once, you just want it to be easy, to be simple, to be helped, to be saved, but you know you won’t be, but you’re still hoping and you’re still wishing and you’re still staying strong and fighting with tears in your eyes. You’re fighting.

“If you were to press your heart close up against somebody else’s heart eventually your hearts will start beating at the same time. And two little babies in an incubator, their hearts will beat at the same time. Love that. So if you have somebody in your life that is prone to anxiety, like myself, and if you happen to be a calm person, you could come up and hug me heart to heart and my heart hopefully would slow to yours. And I just love that idea. Or maybe yours would speed up to mine. But either way, we’ll be there together.”

— Mario Vargas Llosa
“Almost seventy years later I remember clearly how the magic of translating the words in books into images enriched my life, breaking the barriers of time and space…”
